According to source, Naomi Venerable of the District Chronicles, a young lady by the name of Marissa Motley is a 12th grader at Cody High School in Detroit. She is also a mother. Last week, she met a group of Howard University students doing community service at her high school as part of Howard’s alternative spring break program.

A resident in the Eliza Howell community, Motley, had never considered attending a Historically Black College. But that has changed.

“Seeing Howard University students has made me want to go to a Historically Black College with other Black students who are eager to make it in this world,” Motley said smiling.
