When it was first announced in 2012 that Grammy-winning sibling-duo Mary Mary had landed a self-titled reality show on WE tv, Christian audiences assumed it would be family-friendly content. Not so much.

Now in its third season, Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell’s drama and controversy-filled lives make the show more suitable for adults, even forcing the stars to forbid their own children from watching.

“They don’t really watch the show. They’ve seen bits and pieces, but you just have to be careful,” said Erica in a sit-down interview with CNikky.com’s Cherise Nicole, discussing the impact of Tina and Teddy’s infidelity saga.

“And I know in this day and age people think, ‘Oh, they’re little grownups. Tell them everything.’ They’re children and they can’t handle everything, so you have to protect them as best you can,” continued Erica.

Protection, in this case, means pulling the plug on the very entertainment programming created and executive produced by the Christian moms themselves.
