Gospelbreak recently caught up with Sunday Best Season 3 finalist, Elder Goldwire McLendon. The eldest American contemporary solo artist signed to a record deal and charismatic McLendon has been singing for decades. Prior to his journey as a contestant on Season 3 BET’s Sunday Best, where he was first-runner-up to Le’Andria Johnson, he has been ministering to people in word and in song. McLendon’s testimony is an inspiration to millions. Check out our interview with him below:
On Sunday Best Experience
That was quite an experience for me! I felt like I was in another world because I never experienced anything like I had been through and actually it was exciting more as I sat back and looked at what had already happened. Fantastic!
On His Trademark and Unique Sound
All I can say is that it was inspired by God himself! Nobody else. One Sunday at my church in Jacksonville at the time I was nine years old and we had a program they asked me, ‘Could you be in the program, what could you do’ I said I could sing. I was nine and I’ve been singing ever since!
