Atlanta’s first-ever choir made up of homeless men is getting ready for its big second concert!

Six months ago it was a far-fetched notion — a choir of homeless men. David Noonan, the music director at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the city’s oldest church, thought why not?

Now, their second ever concert for the choir is just two days away. Practice is rigorous and the discipline it takes these men to create something beautiful is translating into their own lives.

“We’re giving these people something to do because one, maybe they don’t have something to do. But it’s something to do that’s going to let them build themselves up,” Noonan said. “I’m not building them up — they’re building themselves up, they just don’t realize they’re doing that.”
