The Village of Brooklyn Heights came together on Thursday to honor one of their own, who made it all the way to the Olympics.

Residents lined the streets to meet two-time Olympian Kelli Stack.

Stack was a silver medalist for the U.S.A. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team in 2010 and this year in Sochi.

The city installed signs at eight street entrances into the village to congratulate Stack on her achievements.

“”It makes me feel very special and so appreciative of everybody’s support throughout the Olympics, and just my entire life living in Brooklyn Heights everyone was so gracious and generous to me,” Stack said. “Just the support from the community has been unbelievable and it really makes me happy.”

The event was held at the Brooklyn Heights Community Center, where Stack signed autographs and took photos with her fans.
