When the two forces linked up in 2013 at Bishop T.D. Jakes’ MegaFest, they broke ratings records for OWN’s Lifeclass series. So it only made sense to do it again.
Jakes and Oprah Winfrey set their in-studio and television audience ablaze with a discussion of transformational thinking during the mega pastor’s latest appearance Sunday, May 4.
“I like it!” one enthusiastic woman shouted out as Jakes encouraged the audience to get in touch with themselves in order to live in a more purposeful way.
“The most amazing thing is we study everything but ourselves,” the 56-year-old pastor said. “We walk into rooms and environments and we watch other people. We emulate other people. We wear their names. We wear their clothes. We wear their stuff. We fix our hair like them. We know everything about all the people we admire and nothing about ourselves.”
He added, “Maybe you need to date you in such a way that you get to know who you are and you value what you’re giving away [as well as] what you bring to the table.”
