Police say several people were injured when an SUV with three people inside crashed into a utility pole early Monday.
Officials on scene say a police officer was pursuing the vehicle on Route 82 near York Road in North Royalton just before the crash. Two people were transported to area hospitals. Additional emergency crews were dispatched to the scene from surrounding municipalities.
The officer involved in the pursuit sustained injuries, but was treated at the scene.
Thousands in North Royalton and surrounding cities, including Parma Heights, were left without power overnight. A First Energy official says crews were working quickly to restore the power.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The conditions of those injured aren’t known at this time
