Subdued and appearing unharmed, in a new video released Monday, Islamic militant group Boko Haram shows approximately 130 girls, claiming they are the ones kidnapped from a Nigerian school last month.

The group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, who is trying to negotiate terms, is recorded saying his victims will be held until all imprisoned militants have been freed.

Boko Haram abducted more than 200 girls in northern Nigeria April 14 and threatened to sell them.

Most of the girls are believed to be Christians, while some are Muslim.

In the 17-minute video, obtained by French news agency AFP, Sheau says, “These girls, these girls you occupy yourselves with… we have indeed liberated them. These girls have become Muslims.”
