A Tennessee wife and mother who once sang backup up for Grammy-winning Christian contemporary recording artist and Season 5 American Idol finalist Mandisa Hundley, is now singing in Heaven’s choir.
40-year-old Lakisha Mitchell died of breast cancer after making the tough decision to reduce the intensity of her chemotherapy treatments to spare the life of her then unborn son.
Tennessee News Channel 5 reports that Lakisha and her husband Breonus Mitchell, a pastor at Greater Grace Temple Community Church, discovered her cancer in December 2012. At the same time, the couple learned Lakisha was pregnant with their second son,Brennon.
