Four CMSD schools resumed classes Monday as hundreds of teachers began a week of training to improve instructional practices.

MC2STEM, E3agle Academy, PACT and the Cleveland High School for Digital Arts are on a year-round calendar that alternates ten weeks on and three weeks off. The most recent three-week break ended Monday.

“I just know my summer just ended,” ninth grader Sarina Hardley said.

Most of CMSD’s other schools open August 13, and teachers are busy this week attending classes themselves to learn strategies for engaging their students in learning. The workshops are being held at Tri-C’s Corporate College.

“This is the year of taking all the tools we launched last year and putting them to work,” CEO Eric Gordon said.
