Terrence Harden said a 15-year-old friend is healing from self-inflicted burns that seared his arm a week ago.
Harden, who is 14, said the pal set his own arm on fire but had problems putting out the flames.
“He said he did it because it was popular and he wanted to see what it was like,” Harden said. “I thought about doing it.”
Now, the friend is injured and grounded by his parents — and Harden changed his mind.
Instead, the soon-to-be ninth-grader is part of a group of youth ambassadors who will head back to school in a couple of weeks to stand up against the kinds of social media dares that can be harmful, criminal and possibly deadly.
