The Lifeline Waterfall, as it is known, is the centerpiece work of art for this year’s festival, which moved from Playhouse Square to the lower level of the bridge.

On hand to make sure everything worked right with the 60 foot long cataract was one of the three artists who put together the piece John Thomas.

“We had an idea what we wanted to see and we actually made our vision a reality,” he said. “This is the first time that could absolutely happen.”

The waterfall, which drops 130 feet to the Cuyahoga River below, will be lit at night. It will run Friday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from noon to 1 a.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
