Students at one Cleveland high school are sporting a new look this school year.

John Adams principal Damon Holmes changed the school uniform colors to khaki pants or skirts and maroon polo shirts with the school logo.  He says it will cut down on confusion over all the different colors and shades of colors in the district wide uniforms.

“It was a little ambiguous,” Holmes said. “We spent too much time in the morning trying to make sure all our students were in dress code and compliant.”

Holmes believes that by restricting the uniforms to the school colors, it will not only identify Adams students from anyone else trying to enter the building, but it will also create a feeling of unity among students.

“We wanted to make sure we created a family environment for our students,” he said, “to make sure that they feel a part of something.”
