needed me-time. Who doesn’t love that?
Pastor’s wife and four-time Grammy® winner Karen Clark Sheard, 53, is hosting her “Ladies 1st” International
Summit September 10th through 13th to give women respite from the daily grind.
“All of my leading ladies, I need a break, so I know you need a break,” said the first lady of Greater Emmanuel
Institutional Church of God and Christ in Detroit, in a promotional video.
The world-renowned singer of the legendary Clark Sisters knows all about juggling family and ministry. Though
she lives to pour into the lives of others, Clark-Sheard admits it can get exhausting.
“We love to serve. We love our church family,” and yet, she suggests that women “have a break together,” she
said.
Who’s in?
According to the BET “The Sheards” reality star, this event is her way of showing appreciation and building up
the women who sacrifice continually to get it all done.
