A crew of crooks just got caught breaking into cars steps away from the Cleveland Clinic’s emergency room, and there could be more.

In that latest case, Cuyahoga County prosecutors say a Clinic officer heard a car alarm. Records show three crooks were breaking into cars using a brick and a screwdriver. They damaged ignitions trying to start the cars. A young woman even stood as a lookout.

Clinic workers say they’re not surprised. They say the hospital had warned them about a problem lately with car break-ins.

We’ve learned Cleveland Clinic police even recently had a task force to fight the problem and found other thieves blocks away.

If you park on the streets near the Cleveland Clinic, beware of car thieves.
