Visitors to Voinovich Bicentennial Park in downtown Cleveland received an aviation treat Wednesday as pilots with the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, performed a fly over during an official Blue Angels photo shoot.

The Blue Angels flew the Squadron’s six-Jet F/A-18 Hornet Delta formation around the city, with a seventh jet flying abreast of the formation to photograph the Delta with downtown Cleveland in the background.

The roar of jets flying by gave downtown visitors and workers a preview of what’s to come Labor Day weekend.

Bill Bisco of Broadview Heights came to Voinovich Park Wednesday to view The Blue Angels. He remembered coming down as a kid, to the former Captain Frank’s at the end of the East 9th Street Pier, to watch The Blue Angels. Bisco believed the air show returning in 2014 is good for Cleveland.
