CMSD Athletics Commissioner Leonard Jackson announced that seven Collinwood athletes are facing consequences for their involvement in last week’s altercation during a football game against Garfield Heights.

One player faces discipline from the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the other athletes will be disciplined by the Collinwood principal and coach.

“The Cleveland Metropolitan School District has a zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike conduct at games,” said Jackson. “This is a teachable moment for all of our athletes and a warning that such behavior has no place in interscholastic athletics.”

The game was stopped after the altercation.
