For its 16th annual Global Community Day GE officials found the YMCA at 631 Babbitt Road, which serves a wide area of northern Cuyahoga County, as a well-deserved location for their volunteering effort this year.

GE Lighting Community Relations Manager Andrea Timan says every time the local business giant helped with a community location project refurbishment, efforts like the massive one at Euclid’s YMCA, it enriches the neighborhood.

“We have over 400 employees out at the Euclid YMCA doing over 30 projects,” said Timan on site Wednesday morning. “When we visited the camp here as we were searching for a project, we knew there was great need here in Euclid. We could saw that with the staff was put together in a way that all the projects we were doing would be very sustainable.”

GE donated approximately $260,000 in materials and volunteer time toward the facility all day Wednesday.
