 Rapper Lecrae is steadily ascending to the top of the Hip Hop heap. In an interview aired Sep. 11 on popular Power 105.1 FM morning show, “The Breakfast Club,” he had a fruitful conversation about his faith, music and being different.

As the Christian emcee’s seventh album Anomaly sits at no. 1 on iTunes, besting English-Irish pop boy band One Direction, the 34-year-old said the overwhelming support “blows my mind.

With the project forecasted to move an estimated 75,000-80,000 units in its first week according to Billboard, he said, “I don’t get it,” in reference to the shocking success.

“I’m being honest,” he continued. “I’m just grateful to do music, man. I’m just trying to be authentic, trying to be myself.”

That authenticity of which he speaks has carved out a special “lane,” as he calls it, unique to the Atlanta-based lyricist.
