There aren’t nearly enough empowered Christian women of color on television. Let the church say amen!

So when EEW Magazine’s entertainment editors hear of sisters in the faith like Tamera Mowry-Housley infiltrating mainstream entertainment, we celebrate.

Today is the first day of the official season of her daytime talk show, The Real, which debuts on two networks—Fox and BET.

Co-hosted by Loni Love, Tamar Braxton, Adrienne Bailon, and Jeannie Mai, the all-minority women panel takes on every topic imaginable from a contemporary perspective.

During its initial four-week test run on seven Fox owned-and-operated stations this past summer, the show, distributed through Warner Bros TV Distribution/Telepictures, got largely favorable reviews.

The Real, which is styled by some as a younger, ethnic take on The View–though the ladies do not wish to be compared to anyone had a strong show of support from women 25-54 as well as the coveted 18-34 group.
