No matter what she’s doing damage control for, Olivia always looks immaculate in her power ensembles. And now we can all wear a little piece of that when the Scandal Collection hits The Limited stores on September 23. “Our collection evokes the striking and aspirational style that has become synonymous with the Scandal brand and its heroine Olivia Pope,” says Elliot Staples, head designer for The Limited. “We believe the collection tells a story of confidence and professional sophistication as well as maintaining a strong feminine point of view.”
Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope, teamed up with Scandal’s costume designerLyn Paolo and Staples to create the very first collaboration between a national retailer, network TV show, its leading lady and costume designer. It’s also the first design collaboration for Paolo and Washington.
“The best part is that this truly has been a collaborative experience for Elliot, Kerry and myself,” says Paolo. “From fabric choices, to buttons, to models, and design, we all had something to say and we all listened to one another so that the vision was executed in a way that we all loved. The whole team took great care in creating a collection that reflects Olivia Pope’s unique style. We wanted to create a line the professional woman would incorporate into her wardrobe and that fans of the show would be excited to wear.”
