Overcoming a history of shyness, Andrea McClurkin Mellini is now moving out front as a solo artist.  The transition was not her idea, rather, she simply followed the will of God.

Mellini, who sang backup for her famous brother,  Donnie McClurkin, for more than 30 years, admitted she never considered a solo career.

“I didn’t pursue this vocation at all! As a teen, I was painfully shy. It was so bad, that when I talked to people, if I talked to them at all, I wouldn’t look them directly in their eyes.

“So this [career] was never actively pursued by me, but ordered by the Lord, I believe, to defeat the shyness and to cancel the insecurities and inferiority that plagued me for so many years,” she explained.

Her single, ‘God Can,’ puts Mellini in the spotlight to share her faith through “kingdom music,” as she calls it.
