Thursday’s Cavs opener is the fifth most expensive ticket in the NBA so far this decade. That includes finals games.
The average price for LeBron’s return is $758 according to the folks at SeatGeek.com. They say that is 1,330 percent more than last year’s opening night average of $53.
Channel 3 found tickets Wednesday afternoon for $175 on the Cavs’ “Flash Seats” website — but $30-$40 service fees would also be tacked on. On sites like Stubhub.com, tickets were starting around $700 — that’s nearly $180 cheaper than tickets for tonight’s World Series Game 7.
And in case you’re wondering — as the Cavs surge, the Miami Heat falter. Tickets for their opener are down 72 percent versus last year. The average ticket in Miami is $86 down from 2013’s pricing of $308.
