More than 200 women met at Lake Forest Country Club in Hudson to hear Michelle Knight speak. The event was presented by the Zonta Club of Hudson.
Knight, who with Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus were held captive for more than 10 years inside Ariel Castro’s Cleveland home.
All three girls escaped in May of 2013.
“What I went through and everything that happened to me, made me the strong and powerful woman that I always will be” said Knight.
Since her escape, Michelle published her memoir, “Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, A Life Reclaimed – A Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings.”
Michelle signed copies of her book after speaking to the crowd.
Michelle enjoys music and is currently working on a song entitled “Starlight.” She hopes the song will be used in an upcoming movie about her life.
When asked if she likes living in Cleveland, Knight said, “It’s home. I’m quite comfortable with Cleveland. But, I may be moving soon.”
