Police officials Wednesday released the audio and video recordings of Saturday’s deadly shooting at the Cudell Recreation Center, in response to requests from the family of Tamir Rice.The 12-year-old boy was fatally shot by a Cleveland Officer at the playground on West Boulevard.

In the original 911 call, the caller tells police “there is a guy holding a pistol and pointing it.”

When the dispatcher sends the first police car, she tells them there is a guy sitting on a swing with a gun and keeps pointing it at people. She does not tell them the air gun held by Rice might by a fake.The surveillance video shows Rice on his cell phone, and walking on the sidewalk with the gun in his hand. It also shows the 911 caller leaving the gazebo and Rice entering.

Several minutes pass as Rice sits in gazebo. Police arrive at 3:30 p.m.

The video shows the cruiser pulling onto grass in front of gazebo. As Rice approaches the vehicle, officers exit. Police say Rice pulls up his shirt with on one hand, reaches for waistband with other.
