According to the book of Genesis, it took the Lord six days to create everything under the heavens and on the Earth. On the seventh day, the book says, he rested.
It has been seven days since the fatal shooting of Marcaysia Dawkins, 19, and a local church congregation is not resting, because all is not good.
Bishop Eddie Long leads the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb County. He and his flock walked from their church to the scene of Dawkins murder, Sunday. There, they prayed for an end to violence in their community.
“It’s time to sit down, it’s time to pray together, come together, and stop the violence,” said Long.
Surrounded by supporters, Dawkins’ step-father Richard Gallon addressed the crowd and held nothing back.
