No arrests were made, but tensions ran high as the group tried to make its way to the Quicken Loans Arena before the Cavs 4:30 p.m. tip-off. The group began their rally at 3:30 p.m. in Public Square.

Cleveland Police, using officers, cruisers and horses, blocked off every avenue to the arena, with Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams citing safety as the major concern. Protesters marched down Euclid and were held off when they tried to cross E. 9th over to Prospect.

“This intersection is too crowded, we cannot let you go through this intersection,” Williams told them. “Give me five minutes and then you guys can have it.”
