A DJ is giving local girls a chance to learn all about their dream jobs.
Lil D Porter, a local DJ for Z107.9, is going from behind the microphone to behind the camera to produce a unique web series this holiday season called “The 12 Days of Christmas.”
“I want to highlight women who are making strides in the community and also motivate girls to do the same thing” said Lil D.
She asked girls to write about the careers they dreamed of having. She selected 12 essays and found women already working in that field to mentor them.
“It has been amazing the different careers the girls have wanted and the fact that I knew the women who could find them,” said Lil D.
Girls learned what it’s like to work as a model, a singer, a chef, an author, a youth mentor, a fashion designer and an actor.
