Several Northeast Ohio communities are asked to conserve water due to problems drawing supplies from icy Lake Erie.

Aqua Ohio asks their customers in Ashtabula County to voluntarily reduce water usage until further notice. A news release from Aqau Ohio specified the following communities: Ashtabula city, Ashtabula township, Jefferson, North Kingsville, Kingsville and Sheffield.

Aqua Ohio says their supply is barely meeting their demand right now and are asking it’s customers in Ashtabula county and the city of Geneva to:

•Avoid doing laundry or running the dishwasher,

•Postpone or shorten showers,

•Limit flushing toilets that only contain liquid waste,

•Postpone car washing.

Also affected is Avon Lake Regional Water, which is the water supply to much of Lorain and Medina counties, as well as some surrounding communities.

Some customers report getting a call asking them to conserve. Others found out from social media.
