Ohio State quarterback and Cleveland native Cardale Jones announced he will not enter the NFL Draft

Jones, who finished his redshirt sophomore season, led the Buckeyes to victories over Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon to win the National Championship for Ohio State.

It was Ohio State’s first championship title since 2002.

The Glenville High School graduate started the season as the third string quarterback, but took over under center after Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett suffered injuries.

He threw 7 touchdowns while tossing for 860 passing yards on 56 of 92 passing for a completion rate of 60.9.

Jones also rushed for a touchdown and 296 yards  on 72 carries for a 4.1 yards per carry average.

The decision leaves Ohio State with quarterbacks Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett and Jones battling for the starting job next year.
