GRAMMY ® Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer J Moss wants you to know, had it not been for the late Andraé Crouch, music like his would not be accepted in gospel.

During an interview on The Rickey Smiley Show, the 43-year-old said, “Without him, music like mine wouldn’t even be able to fit.”

Known for pushing the envelope with his urban, R&B-tinged musical style, J Moss said, “For stuff like me, Kirk [Franklin], Mary Mary, Fred [Hammond], when we really go hard on that contemporary side, that stuff stemmed from Andraé Crouch man and you really have to give him love.”

Crouch, who wrote songs like “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power,” “To God Be the Glory,” “Soon and Very Soon,” “Jesus Is the Answer,” and “We Are Not Ashamed,” also had crossover appeal.
