Cleveland is home to Superman. Most natives know it. But finding evidence of it has proven tricky.

Well, the man of steel appears ready to be honored in a very public way – a lakeside statue smack dab between the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and The Great Lakes Science Center.

“I didn’t know it would take this long,” says sculptor David Deming who was approached by those quarterbacking the idea in 2008.

Deming who has emerged as Cleveland’s premier celebrity sculptor — having been commissioned to construct statues of everyone from former Browns owner Al Lerner to Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs-Jones — has already constructed a model of the structure.
