Another snowy weekend put Cleveland road crews to the test, trying to keep city streets clear and passable. The city put a plan in place and there seemed to be improvement compared to a few weeks ago.

Clevelanders found themselves digging out again Sunday, following several inches of new snow that blanketed the area . City road crews had to do the same.

The plan of attack called for first clearing the primary and secondary roads and then tackling the residential side streets. “Not a problem at all.  You get hit with a big snow storm, you’re going to get delays,” Cleveland resident Matt O’Brien said as he cleared his driveway on Harlan Avenue.

By Sunday afternoon, the city reported that about 60 percent of the side streets had been cleared.  That was something that Councilman Mike Polensek saw for himself driving around his neighborhood. “We saw a big improvement from what we saw the week after the Super Bowl and let’s hope it continues throughout the remainder of the winter,” Councilman Polensek added.
