Ward 11 Cleveland City Councilman Dona Brady had harsh words about the state of the city’s parks and recreations centers during a heated budget hearing on Wednesday.

Brady said Cudell Recreation Center has broken surveillance cameras and needs more staff to care for kids.

She also was angry about the condition of the Cudell Fine Arts Center.

“It can’t just sit there with peeling paint while we’re out citing everybody in the neighborhood for peeling paint. We own it! Do something,” she to public works officials during their annual budget review.

The center is a historic home located at 10013 Detroit Ave. and offers classes in fine arts – like painting and pottery – to children and adults.
