If you walked through downtown at all in the last week, you may have noticed some areas have no lighting. After our reports about the lights going on and off, the city is saying the issue will be fixed for good.

Public Square is at the heart of the issue.

In order to renovate Public Square, Cleveland Public Power needed to turn off the lights so workers didn’t hit a live line while working. In that process, several more downtown streetlights were turned off making it incredibly hard for pedestrians to see anything in front of them.Cleveland Public Power representatives have spent much of the week responding to tweets, like one from @MikeGersper asking why the street lights on prospect have been out for two days.
