The Cleveland Indians take on the Detroit Tigers in the home opener Friday afternoon. Here’s some information about what has changed in Progressive Field security since the 2014 season.

All gates now have metal detectors, this was a mandate from the MLB to ensure fan safety at all ballparks.

Also, fans cannot enter the ballpark with bottles, cans, thermos bottles, coolers, cups, squeeze bottles or any beverage in a plastic cup. However, single-serve and soft-sided juice boxes are allowed, food in soft-sided containers is also allowed.

Bags and purses are subject to a search when they enter the park as well.

Cameras and cell phones are allowed, but anything that interferes with the game or another fan’s experience can removed at the park’s discretion.

Re-entry to the park is allowed, but only at a dedicated area at Gate A. Tickets will be scanned when the guest leaves, and re-scanned when they enter back into the park.
