Young girls spend years of their lives waiting to go to prom. Since many local families simply cannot afford it, LeBron’s wife, Savannah James and her prom dress drive, is helping make dreams come true.
Over the last three years, the annual event has helped more than 350 high school girls in Miami and Akron. While LeBron watched and listened, Savannah told the girls how her prom hairdo almost brought her to tears but in the end that did not matter.
“It is like the best part of my life right now,” said Buchtel High School Senior Jessica Portis. “I feel so blessed.”
In this dress, Portis says she feels like a princess.
“Before I even got it zipped up I was like ‘Oh my, God, I cannot wait,'” said Portis.
Portis could only dream of zipping up a dress like this one until this moment.
“It helps a lot actually because it is hard when I do not have my parents around,” said Portis.
