Deitrick Haddon is expecting his first son this summer and he recently opened up about why he does not expect the future Haddon to pursue a career in the gospel music industry.
Haddon, the 41-year-old gospel singer-songwriter and minister, took to social media to announce that he was expecting his first son next summer after having two girls. The singer recently spoke to Oxygen about what he expects to teach his future son who will be named Deitrick Haddon, Jr.
“I’m not putting the pressure on him to be a singer or TV star. He doesn’t have to do any of those things,” Haddon told Oxygen. “I’ll tell him that whatever he does, he has to be great. I’m going to push him to be great by giving him an education and laying down a foundation, and then I’m going to watch him grow.”
However, if the next generation’s Deitrick Haddon did decide to follow in his footsteps, the minister and musician is prepared to warn him against it.
