After nearly five years between playoff victories and four straight seasons without the postseason, the Cavaliers returned with a vengeance and earned a 1-0 series lead over the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs after Sunday’s 113-100 victory in front of a raucous capacity crowd at Quicken Loans Arena.

In his first-ever NBA playoff game, point guard Kyrie Irving led the way for the Cavaliers with 30 points on 11 of 21 shooting, including a five-of-nine mark from three-point range, in 41 minutes. Irving added two assists, three rebounds, one steal and a blocked shot in the win over Boston.

In addition to Irving, Cavaliers small forward LeBron James scored 20 points, handed out seven assists and pulled in six rebounds. Power forward Kevin Love, who like Irving was playing in his first-ever playoff game, added a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds despite making only five of his 14 shot attempts.
