The Federal Trade Commission recently announced that identity theft topped the list of complaints the agency received in 2014. Shredding sensitive documents to keep them out of the hands of scammers is an important step in protecting your identity.

To help, the Better Business Bureau, along with its partners Rad Air Complete Car Care, All Ohio Secure Shred, and Apprisen, are offering free document shredding at two locations on Saturday. Residents and small businesses are encouraged to bring up to three boxes or bags, as well as CDs and floppy discs.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. bring your items to Rad Air at 6221 SOM Center Avenue in Solon or 6565 Pearl Road in Parma Heights.

Up to three boxes or bags of documents will be accepted. Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders, but staples, paper clips, CDs and floppy discs are okay to be shredded.
