Tuesday night was an emotional evening for several Christian music-makers — including two of Nashville’s biggest gospel music stars.

BeBe and CeCe Winans were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame during the second annual GMA Honors ceremony, presented by the Gospel Music Association. The brother/sister duo were part of a 2015 class that also included praise and worship music mainstay Twila Paris, songsmith and Gaither Vocal Band member Mark Lowry and former Word Entertainment CEO Roland Lundy.

The Winans smiled as they took the stage at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena to a standing ovation.

“The exciting thing about singing gospel music is that it never gets old,” CeCe Winans said. “Because God just gets greater and greater over the years … the more things you go through, you get a chance to see him in a different way. I’m probably more excited now about singing the gospel than I’ve ever been.”

As big as those moments were, the Hall of Fame inductions were only half of the program.
