Believe it or not, many asthma sufferers are able to lead normal, healthy lives and that includes exercising regularly. In fact, physical activity can improve your breathing and reduce the amount of asthma attacks. But generally speaking, swimming, bicycling, golf, walking and weightlifting are the most asthma-friendly. Furthermore, here are three tips to help you control your asthma during exercise.

1. Talk with your doctor.

Ask about using an inhaled bronchodilator about 10 minutes prior to hitting the gym. Also, be sure to work closely with your doctor to determine a workout plan that’s best for you. Communication is key.
