“We Shall Overcome” echoed through the streets of Cleveland early Tuesday afternoon as a group marched in response to the not guilty verdict of Cleveland police officer Michael Brelo.

Members of about 40 area churches were involved in the event organized by the Greater Cleveland Congregations.

The Pastor at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church says the march was to lead hundreds to call for “comprehensive reform.”

The group gathered at the Holiday Inn Express on 6th Street and Euclid around 11:30 a.m. before marching to City Hall and the Justice Center.

Arm in arm, the group chanted “We can’t wait” while also singing several hymns along the route, which ended back at the Holiday Inn Express.
