*As a champion sprinter with a serious competitive streak, Rose Green is a true example of never being too old to conquer.

The Prince George’s County competitive runner, who turned 77 on Sunday (May 24), has made an impressive impact among those in her age group, with winning medals in the 200 meters and the 400 meters. And did we mention that Green is the American record holder in the 60-meter sprint?

Not bad for someone who’s also a great-grandmother and described by her coach and boyfriend Cortez Austin as “world class.”

According to the MyFoxDC.com, Green took up sprinting last year and trains as many as seven days a week with Austin. While she has accomplished a lot in her short time as a runner, Green credits the reputation associated with the great tradition of Jamaican sprinter.
