The City of Cleveland Division of Recreation is kicking off  is Summer Food Service Program for Children next week. The program provides free meals, Monday – Friday, to all children 18 years of age and under. Those over 18, who are determined by the state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled, are also included.

The program begins June 1, 2015 at all 21 recreation centers and other partnering locations in Cleveland.

“School meals are the primary source of nutrition for many of our children and there is a void when school recesses for the summer,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “This program fills the void by offering children and teens easy access to meals in locations throughout the City.”
