TEXAS POOL VIDEO

Video melee: Police trying their best to deal with rowdy teens or another case of police brutality? That’s the question after a chaotic YouTube video surfaced over the weekend showing a McKinney, Texas, cop throwing a bikini-clad teen girl to the ground and pulling his gun on a couple of teen boys while trying to break up a pool party. The officer is on administrative leave and the police department is investigating.

NEW YORK ESCAPEES

Where are they?: The two murderers who escaped from prison in upstate New York now have a $100,000 reward on their heads. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the reward Sunday, a day after Richard Matt and David Sweat somehow managed to get out of a maximum security prison. Everybody is looking for them: state officials, U.S. Marshals Service, the FBI. Eyes are being kept on both borders too since the Canadian border is nearby and one of the killers has ties to Mexico.

SOUTH KOREA

Mers fears: South Korea is in a near panic as it struggles to contain the outbreak. More than 2,300 people are quarantined and close to 2,000 schools are temporarily closed. In all 87 people have contracted the virus and six have died. Doctors and scientists say MERS isn’t easily transmitted, but there’s a lot about this virus they don’t know about, since it only surfaced about three years ago. WHO experts are headed to the country to assess the public heath response.
