The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Duke’s Tyus Jones with the No. 24 overall pick in the NBA Draft and will trade him to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to reports.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported the Cavs would trade Jones to the Timberwolves for the No. 31 and 36 picks.
Minnesota went on to select Cedi Osman, a shooting guard from Turkey, and Rakeem Christmas, a forward from Syracuse University with those picks.
Cleveland is now expected to receive Osman and Christmas from Minnesota for Jones.
Christmas would provide insurance for the Cavs at forward if Kevin Love – who opted out of the final year of his contract earlier this week making himself a free agent on July 1 – decides to leave.
