Last year this time I was standing on the side of a stage preparing to make a presentation before thousands of people.
I didn’t feel 100 percent, but felt the need to ignore what my body was saying to me.
What happened next is what inspired this column. I was on my back with one leg caught in the draw-string of a curtain surrounded by people. I had fainted due to extreme exhaustion.
When I came to, I was informed that I had fallen off a 12-foot stage and that the rope had broken my fall.
Even after being informed of what happened I wanted to get up and complete my assignment.
My wife being a loving care-giver and physician made certain that I was rushed to the ER.
