Giania Hinton is learning to be a precision machinist. She sees herself possibly working at an aerospace firm.
She”s learned her skills at both the original Max Hayes High School and the new Max Hayes that just opened this year.
She calls the new school a big improvement.
“It’s more of today with the technology and everything else . It’s more hands-on than the other school. It’s more updated,” she says.
The new school also boasts of more partnerships with local businesses.
And on the day of its official opening ribbon-cutting, school brass signed a deal with the Cleveland Building and Trades group to have Max Hayes students groomed to enter construction trade apprentice programs.
The group’s Executive Director Dave Wondolowski said, “Cleveland is going to have a lot of construction jobs for the next five years…for those that apply themselves, there will be a lot of opportunities here.”
