The Cleveland Browns fell to the Chicago Bears, 24-0, at Soldier Field in tonight’s preseason finale for both teams.
The Browns finished the exhibition season with a 1-3 mark, and the Bears, under coach John Fox, posted a 3-1 record in the preseason.
Bears kicker Robbie Gould buried a 28-yard field goal and gave his team a 24-0 lead over the Browns with 5:35 to play in the fourth quarter. Gould capped off a 12-play, 70-yard drive that took nearly eight minutes off the fourth-quarter clock.
Chicago moved the ball from its own 20-yard line to Cleveland’s five, but on third-and-four, the Bears were penalized for a false start. Quarterback Zac Dysert, a native of Ada, Ohio, and graduate of Miami (Ohio) University, was unable to connect with wide receiver Rashad Lawrence for a conversion, and the Bears settled for the field goal.
